I've been crossfitting for almost a year now and the hardest thing to wrap my head around is the term "PR". Growing up in sports, lifting has been a part of my life since I was 12 years old. I was blessed to be at a high school with a great lifting program and to connect with some great Oly coaches during my college days. I was young, strong, and motivated! The numbers I put up back then were pretty high. There lies the problem. I'm nowhere near any of those PRs I had in my twenties, so to call my lifts PRs now is bittersweet. I definitely haven't been this strong for quite some time, but I'm not besting what I know I've done in the past.
My 2012 challenge is to close the gap. How close can I come to achieving an actual PR in my old lifts? Can I be better in my thirties, than I was in my twenties? I believe I can! I might not do it this year, but I do believe it will be done.
